Asahi So
Asahi So is an emerging Sydney-based artist and a graduate of the Advanced Diploma in Ceramics programme through NSI. After a ten-year floristry career, he began to question the often-throwaway nature of working with fresh plant material, and turned his attention to creating work using more lasting media. Combining ceramic and looped wire elements, he creates unique vessels and sculptural forms that capture and hold space differently to the solid ceramic form. Career highlights include winning the Gosford Ceramics Prize in 2019, and being featured as an emerging artist in the November/December 2022 issue of Ceramic Review magazine. His work can be found in Sydney through Saint Cloche gallery, Gallery Lowe and Lee, and Chinaclay.
