
Janine Brody
Specialist in design, slipcasting, mouldmaking, and ceramic decals, Janine Brody
has extensive experience in industry, design and education. Janine holds a
Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts and is a founding partner of
Cone 9 Studios. For the past 20 years, she has designed and produced a range
of artworks, bespoke ceramic products and commissions for architecture, retail,
collectors and galleries. Her most recent project was the design and production
of a limited edition of 300 vases for the Norman Lindsay Gallery – Historic Houses
Trust. This project required a high degree of innovation in the area of ceramic
transfer print, porcelain body development and photogrammetry.
In the area of education Janine has conducted a broad range of technical workshops
to school children, adults, secondary and tertiary students. Her role as Education
officer in public programmes at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, involved
integrating education programmes with museum exhibitions to maximise public
engagement. As a teacher with the Sydney Ceramics Studios for the past 5 years
Janine has shared her expertise and experience with students working with the
design and production of functional, sculptural and conceptual works.
