Michelle Kirk is an artist living on the fringes of North West Sydney, Dharug Country and is pulled towards the national bushland valleys surrounding her home, immersing herself and exploring the deep relationship she has with it.
Working with recycled materials and fibre, in recent years Michelle's medium has moved into the ceramic world, and stuck like mud.
While capturing the landscapes in her ceramic pieces, Michelle's intention is to circle us back into a space of connection to our natural surroundings and the energy of it. Capturing just beyond the visible, Michelle's work is inherently visceral, intimate and tactile.
